Time tracking
Log time on issues — and what that time powers.
Time in Aztra is logged per issue, and it's doing more work than you might think: it gates completion, feeds utilization, and prices delivered work in project budgets.
Logging time
- Quick log — one-tap buttons on the issue add common increments without opening a dialog.
- The time dialog — open the issue's time tracking to log a specific amount with a note.
- See the total — each issue shows its logged time, including time on its sub-issues.
Why it's required
An issue can't enter review or be completed until time is logged on it. That single rule keeps the numbers downstream honest:
- Utilization — team workload views reflect real recorded effort.
- Costing — when an issue completes, its cost is calculated from logged time and the person's rate (see Budget & costing).
- Reports — completed-work reports can say what things actually took.
Seeing "Please log time before moving to this status"? That's this rule — log your time on the issue, then move it.
Log as you go rather than reconstructing at the end of the week — thirty seconds after finishing a task beats an hour of archaeology on Friday.
